On November 1, 2012 Butte City Schools had its first ever Montana Made Meal Day! Approximately 1,600 students were served either tacos or lasagna made with Montana raised and finished beef processed at Ranchland Packing Company. The lunch was accompanied by fresh apples and carrot chips sourced from Western Montana Growers’ Cooperative.

The initiative was inspired by National Farm to School Month in October and was organized by Farm to Cafeteria Connections and Butte City Schools. Read more about the event in this Montana Standard article or watch this news clip aired on local television!
